The Report of the Finance Committee to the 71st Annual Convention

LMC completed a full day of training with management on December 9th and had their first full meeting with management last Wednesday, 1/14. Their main objective for that meeting was to finalize the Mission Statement and Ground rules documents. Once they have made all the final changes/additions to those documents, they will forward them to everyone, hopefully by the end of the week.

Next week will be our rescheduled PERU worksite meetings. These will be next Tuesday, January 27 at 5 pm in both Portland and Salem offices. There will also be a lunchtime meeting in Salem at noon. Outer offices please call in as normal to attend. On the agenda for this meeting is discussion about PERU solidarity days (we have one coming up), LMC, UHW and grievances.

This week there is the CWA general membership meeting. The meeting will be this Thursday, January 22 at 7 pm. The change though is that this meeting will be at the Portland SEIU 503 office on Foster. Since the CWA office has downsized there is no longer space to hold the meetings there, so from now until further notice they will be on-site. This will just make it easier for our members to attend, especially those in the Portland office.

PERU members met Madelyn and Graham from the Portland AFL-CIO office to hold signs and hand out flyers in front of T-Mobiles offices. Very few flyers were handed out due to the weather but several people slowed down to read the signs.
